Disadvantages of the building information model at all stages of its life and ways to minimize their impact
Incoming article date: 10.10.2020With information modeling of buildings, the time and money spent on creating a building project is significantly minimized, and it also becomes possible to make changes to the project, reducing the likelihood of a designer making a mistake. However, building information models have a number of disadvantages expressed at each stage of the object's life cycle. In this article, the main stages of the life cycle of a building were highlighted, according to regulatory documents. The drawbacks of using information models at each stage are highlighted and their influence on the work in the information modeling environment is considered. Ways to minimize these shortcomings, taking into account the prevalence of BIM-models of the building at the present time, are proposed. The general problems of transition from the classical design method to information models are highlighted.
