In this article, the authors consider the problem of the growth of road traffic injuries among young drivers Analyzed the growth trend of accidents in Russia, which can be traced to the schedule presented in the article. At the beginning of independent practical driving your own sense of safety of the driver and his security objective underestimated. But after some time, the subjective safety of the driver begins to prevail over the objective. It is this divergence is characterized by a new driver stage. In order to identify the most dangerous period of independent practical driving, the authors conducted a survey of a group of 100 young drivers, driving experience that ranged from 2.5 to three years. The survey results are processed and presented in the article. Based on the survey results, the authors proposed a method of psychological impact on the candidates for the drivers to better prepare them. This method is also presented in the paper.
