Hydropower and its role in ensuring environmental cleanliness and water storage
Incoming article date: 19.09.2020The use of renewable energy sources is an integral part of ensuring the engineering safety of buildings and structures. The article provides a brief study of the sources of electrical energy generated by the energy of rivers, dams and thermal energy of the Earth in Iraq, examines the most important rivers in Iraq and their storage in order to maintain a clean environment and simultaneously generate electricity. The results of Iraq's hydropower analysis revealed the need to build dams on the Tigris and Euphrates rivers for water storage and energy production to maintain environmental cleanliness. The study details the benefits of building dams for many purposes, including irrigation of agricultural land, prevention of natural disasters and conservation of the environment.
