  • The main sources of negative impact on the environment during the construction and operation of gas distribution systems

    When operating gas distribution systems, the process of releasing various gases into the atmosphere is inevitable, negatively affecting the environment and creating a greenhouse effect. These gases can be either products of combustion of gaseous fuel or the result of natural gas leaks from gas pipelines and equipment. The main articles of gas leaks from gas pipelines and ways to minimize the negative impact on the environment are given.

  • Study of differences in fire regulations between Russia and China in the design of gas distribution pipelines

    The article considers the requirements of regulatory documents to ensure fire safety during construction and operation of gas distribution pipelines in Russia and China. The different approach to fire risk reduction in the two countries is revealed: more specific and stringent requirements in China and general requirements related to fire hazardous facilities in Russia.

  • Determination of geometric parameters of pits when laying polyethylene gas pipelines using horizontal directional drilling

    The use of closed methods for laying underground polyethylene gas pipelines using horizontal directional and directional drilling methods when crossing artificial and natural obstacles is considered. The results of calculating the geometric parameters of the working and receiving pits when laying polyethylene gas pipelines using a closed method using horizontal directional drilling are presented.

    The value of the efficiency of domestic gas boilers of the brand Baxi ECO-4S 24 with various schemes of air supply and smoke removal is considered. The difference in the calculated efficiency values and the passport values is analyzed.

  • Determination of seismic load when exposed to aboveground steel gas pipelines

    The article considers the influence of seismic load with different ballistics on aboveground steel gas pipelines of various diameters in areas of possible earthquakes. The change in the proportion of seismic load to the total load acting on gas pipelines during operation is investigated.

  • Determination of the storage capacity of the gas pipeline in case of an emergency stop of gas supply

    The analysis of accidents on the main gas pipelines was carried out. The mathematical dependences of the volume of gas located in a gas pipeline of various diameters are determined. A nomogram is proposed to determine the volume of natural gas located in certain sections of the gas distribution network.

  • Determination of the local resistance coefficient for steel ball valves in gas distribution networks

    The article substantiates the need to clarify the value of pressure losses in the shut-off valves. Various methods of determining the coefficient of local resistance of steel ball valves are considered. A comparative analysis of the values of the local resistance coefficient obtained theoretically and experimentally is performed. Recommendations on the application of numerical values of the local resistance coefficient of steel ball valves are given.

  • Investigation of the pressure class of locking regulators RED

    The work of new Russian regulators RED is being considered. The results of a study of the compliance of regulators with the declared class of locking pressure using the "PLEXOR" installation are presented. The conducted tests show that Russian gas pressure regulators in the conditions of import substitution are not inferior to foreign analogues in their technical and functional characteristics.

  • Study of seasonal unevenness of gas consumption for the shopping and leisure complex

    The issues of seasonal unevenness of gas consumption for the needs of heating, ventilation and hot water supply of the shopping and leisure complex are considered. Calculations of volumetric and power indicators of uneven gas consumption for 2020-2022 are given according to the data of the archive of gas consumption meters.

  • Investigation of the range of stable operation of regulators FL 200A N 300+TR in hydraulic fracturing No. 4 of Volgograd

    The work of the FL200AN300+TR regulators installed in the hydraulic fracturing plant No. 4 in Volgograd is considered. The results of calculations of the throughput capacity of pressure regulators are presented. The range of their stable operation is determined on the basis of archival data of the gas flow metering unit. It was revealed that not all outlets provide stable operation of pressure regulators with minimal gas consumption.

  • Optimization of the gas distribution network of the Knyazhensky-1 farm Mikhailovsky district of the Volgograd region

    The problem of choosing the most optimal gas supply scheme for rural settlements is considered, taking into account technical and economic criteria. For example x. Knyazhensky-1, Mikhailovsky district of the Volgograd region, several gas supply schemes are proposed. The feasibility study of the choice of one of the possible options is given. It was found that for rural settlements with an extended form, the most optimal is a scheme with two sources of gas supply and a reserving jumper between them.

  • Determination of pressure losses due to friction in steel and brick gas ducts from gas-fired boilers

    The problem of removal of combustion products during the reconstruction of existing boiler houses is considered. The issue of determining pressure losses due to friction in steel and brick gas ducts when performing an aerodynamic calculation of gas ducts from gas-fired boilers is considered. Nomograms have been developed that make it possible to determine the specific pressure loss depending on the volume of flue gases and the diameter of the gas ducts.

  • The use of biogas at a wine-making enterprise in the Republic of Crimea

    This article discusses the advantages and perspective for the use of biogas in the conditions of the Republic of Crimea. The ecological and economic aspects of the use of biogas technologies at winemaking enterprises are touched upon. Describes the methods of using biogas at the winery "Massandra" in the Republic of Crimea. The calculation of the use of natural gas in the boiler house of a winery is made. A calculation was made for the use of biogas in a boiler house. It can be concluded that when using biogas in the boiler house of a winery, fuel needs are fully covered. The surplus of the remaining fuel is proposed to be used in a cogeneration plant to generate electricity.

  • Determination of the gas compressibility factor during degassing of a gas pipeline section

    An analysis of the accident rate on gas pipelines is given. Mathematical dependences of the volume of gas entering the atmosphere during the degassing of a gas pipeline section are given. Based on the existing nomogram for determining the gas compressibility factor for main gas pipelines, a nomogram for natural gas transported through gas distribution networks was constructed.

  • Study of the basic relative error of rotary and turbine gas meters

    The results of verification of turbine and rotary gas meters used as measuring instruments in gas supply systems of industrial enterprises are presented. It was found that about 50% of calibrated meters exceed the requirements for the permissible values of the main relative error, as a rule, in the range of minimum gas flow rates. Ways to increase the service life of gas meters are proposed.
